November Meeting Recap

Biggest. Meeting. Ever. 57 of us were in attendance at VMQG’s November meeting. How fabulous! The energy in the room was positively crackling. Many, many wonderful and inspiring projects were shown.

Here’s just a sampling – please go to the VMQG Flickr group to see them all. And feel free to tag yourself in the photos as well.

JoAnn’s fabulous quilting on an incredible baby quilt.

Sheila’s delightful textile art

Janet’s preemie.

Janet‘s wonderfully practical advice for anyone looking to master FMQ: do FMQ. She donates preemie quilts and their 36″ square size makes them a perfect size for practicing FMQ.

And that’s not it – seriously, go to see the others here.

Happy pincushion swappers

Look at all those wonderful pincushions! We’re very excited to participate in the Modern Quilt Guild Pincushion Swap with KCMQG, and I hear that there’s some excitement at the prospect of receiving an “international” pincushion. I think we totally brought it with these fabulous creations.

The scrap bag challenge and swap was launched, and it looks like at least 20 members or more are participating – I’m looking forward to the December meeting so I can see what our super creative group got up to.

The November meeting was also when we shared our Kona Modern Quilts Challenge projects – but they’re going to get their very own post. Stay tuned!

Thanks to all who came out, and special thanks to the 8 (!!) new members who joined on Monday. We’re so happy to have you!
