Round Robin: May Assignment

How fun is this?! I am really having fun with the Round Robin activity – last month I played with pops of colour in a grey/neutrals quilt.

For the next round, due at the May 26 meeting:

  • Add a 6″ finished (6½” unfinished) border on ONE side only.
  • Theme: stars.

May Round RobinNote: the border can be on any one side, whichever works for the project you’ve got. As usual, I made the border in the diagram plain/solid – use your imagination and be creative!

  1. This month’s assignment looks like fun. I thought I’d need to paper piece the stars. Then I found an easy tutorial for a modern wonky star block by Jenny of the Missouri Star Quilt Company. It’s at if you want to take a look. She uses 5″ squares for each part of the 9 patch that makes the star. I made it using two and a half inch squares instead, so the block turns out to be six and a half inches unfinished. Hope you’re all having as much fun with this as I am.
