It’s almost time for Latifah Saafir to visit!
To recap our earlier post, Latifah is one of the co-founders of both the Los Angeles Modern Quilt Guild and the overall worldwide organization (that we are part of!) The Modern Quilt Guild.
She will be here for a lecture on Friday May 27th and workshops on Saturday, May 28th, Sunday, May 29th, and Monday, May 30th.
Latifah combines her training as an engineer with her lifelong passion for sewing to creates designs that are graphic and contemporary, featuring challenging techniques with meticulous attention to detail. She is known for her bold and innovative modern quilts.
Her lecture on Friday May 27th is titled Modern Quilting: Past, Present and Future, and will include some aspects of a trunk show. The lecture will be held at the MEC Head Office, located at 1077 Great Northern Way, Vancouver. This gorgeous venue is literally steps from the VCC/Clark Skytrain station, and also has plenty of free parking. The lecture starts at 7pm, the door open at 6:30.

Tickets for the lecture will be $15 for members and non-members alike, and will be available for purchase at VMQG meetings, or through the paypal link below.
