Wedge Workshop with Paul Krampitz

VMQG is excited to have Guild Member Paul  teach us about using your wedge rule.  This hands-on workshop covers several techniques that can be done with the ruler.

This is really to explore what you can do with wedge templates.  Each block will be a quarter circle of 9 wedges and could be any size up to 3 feet, so a full circle could end up being big enough for a whole quilt top.

We’ll start by using some of Paul’s ugly Christmas fabric and will go through the steps in cutting and sewing the wedges, then how to add in the centre arc and the outside to complete a quarter circle square.

He’ll show you several examples of what you can do now that you’ve learned how to use the rulers and then you can start on your own project with your own fabric.  You can decide how big to make each wedge and how improvised or how colourful using your own selection of coordinating fabrics and a solid or two for background fabrics.
