February – Improv Hourglass Blocks

I should have set a timer on this post — apologies for the delay in putting it up. For those of you at the meeting,  Amy & I announced that the block lotto for March is an hourglass improv. Thanks to Felicity for the extra direction!

And by improv I mean root around in your scrap bag and pull out the solids and make some blocks. Please keep to solids.

Don’t think about the size, just square them up when you’re done.

I used Krista Hennebury’s easy stack and cut method (taking her classes has unexpected benefits), but there’s more than one way to improv an hourglass block.

A Quilter’s Table takes improv to a level of wonky that I wasn’t approaching. Check out her blog post:   http://aquilterstable.blogspot.ca/2016/10/army-of-self-love-improv-hourglass.html
