Our fifteen minutes of fame

The Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild has been in the press lately! We were featured in a segment on myVancouver TV (part of the Optik Local series of community interest shows) and we were also in an article on modern quilting in the most recent edition of the Canadian Quilters’ Association‘s newsletter, “The Canadian Quilter”.

Thanks to Holly Broadland, Karen Cooper, and Matt Wheeler for sharing their love of the guild in their interviews with the myVancouver TV crew! We showed the video at our February meeting, but if you didn’t have a chance to see it then, you can view it at this link:

The Canadian Quilter Spring-2013

“The Canadian Quilter” is only distributed to CQA members (find info about becoming a member here) and you can’t find it on newsstands. Fortunately, the CQA has given us permission to share the article as a pdf. Thanks to Jo Ferguson and the CQA for sharing modern quilting with the readers of “The Canadian Quilter”!

If you were at our busy November meeting, you may have had the chance to meet  Lisa Corriveau, who is both a sewist and a writer for VancouverMom.ca. She came out to learn more about the guild so she could feature us on their blog. Her piece about the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild was published today so head on over and read the article! Thanks, Lisa!

We’re featured on Canadian Living’s Craft Blog!

Just a quick note to let you know that our pincushion swap caught the eye of the editors at Canadian Living magazine and there is a blog post about us on The Craft Blog today! Thanks, Canadian Living!
