(Scrappy) Wonky Star by Quilt Expressions

This fun block is a combination of Traditional, Scrappy and Improv. To make the star stand out more, choose a background fabric that is a lighter value than the star fabrics, such as low-volume white, light neutral or white solid fabric.

Fabric

1.  A 6″ x 12″ piece of background fabric for the background pieces (eight 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″).
Choose a fabric that is a lighter value than the star centre and points.

2.  A selection of fabric ‘scraps’ from your stash that are about 2″ x 3″ for the star points. 

3.  A centre block piece 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ 

Cutting

• Cut 8 background blocks 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

• Cut 1 centre block 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″

• Cut 8 pieces of the star point fabrics that are about 2″ x 3″
