Quilts containing words have a long history, and with modern quilting they have experienced something of a revival. A word, or two, or ten, can say so much. Text blocks are the basis of the VMQG’s 2020 Quiltcon charity quilt, so let’s hop on-board the bandwagon.

For this month’s assignment please incorporate some lettering or numbering into your partner’s top. If you feel really stuck for ideas there is always the year, longitude and latitude, etc. These blocks can be whatever technique speaks to you: pieced, paper-pieced, appliqued, or reversed appliqued. Size of text complementary to the scale of the top, please (my imagination takes me to all sorts of the places with unfortunate possibilities).
