Sew Good Quilts is part of our community outreach program, led by VMQG member, Megan. It’s a simple program, we make quilts for those in need of something as basic as a warm blanket. We currently divide our donations between Covenant House youth program and the Unitarian Church refugee program. We volunteer our time to make the quilts, and all of the fabric and other supplies needed to make the quilts are donated by our members.

In 2023, our guild donated more than 30 quilts, divided between Covenant House and the Unitarian Church refugee program.

Dignity Quilts
We also make Dignity Quilts to help families honour loved ones at the end of their life. The quilt is intended to show dignity for the family and can serve as an important ritual to help the family say goodbye. These quilts are commissioned, and we volunteer our time and all supplies are donated.

Twelve quilts shown at our December 2023 meeting for our Sew Good Quilts program—some destined for Covenant House Vancouver, some destined for refugee families supported by the Unitarian Church—hoping they give a little comfort and joy. Fabric, supplies, time, and talent donated by VMQG members. Thanks to Megan, VMQG member, for coordinating.
