Here is a quick and easy block from Benartex. I’ve adapted the sizes so we can use up some of our scrap 2.5 inch strips.

Select two strips that have the same colour but two different values, and add white for the background.

Use solids, grunge, ombre or subtle tone-on-tone prints in rainbow or pastel colours. Basically looking for a solid block of colour with a little optional texture.
Background can be white, white-on-white print, very pale grey and white tone-on-tone or very low volume pale print with a white background. It should read as white.
All the strips will be 2.5 inches wide.

Colour strip A: 7.5 inches x 2.5
Colour strip B: 7.5 inches x 2.5 either lighter value or darker value than colour A, but the same hue.
White background : 2 strips 5.5 inches x 2.5

The completed size with all raw edges is 12.5 x 4.5. It will be 12 x 4 finished.

I hope you have fun with this.
